Everything is connected

Four colour screen print, edition of twenty.

Everything is connected brief, based loosely around the main arguments for free will, I found when researching this project that each argument was dependant on one's own beliefs and so each argument ended up going round in circles, and obviously could never reach a conclusion.

The continual overlaying of colours, patterns and changing the opacity of the ink represents this perpetual state of indecision.

Dry point and etching

Beyond the boundaries - North Vs. South

A1 Dry point printed onto somerset satin and with diluted black Quink added when half dry for further character definition.

Rotating Gallery

Novembers show consisted of work from Graphic design and Illustration BA and the posters were designed by Mike Guppy and Justine Melford-Colegate; AO three colour screen print.

Co - Curated by Rebecca Allen and Kate Innes.

Nursery Rhyming

76 Lino-cut origami fortune tellers, printed from six different lino blocks. Each block has parts of six well-known children's nursery rhymes, all the blocks join together in the shape of a square net and all the rhymes become sequential.

I chose fortune tellers because of the nostalgia felt when you hold one, the beauty of the shape in itself and the simplicity of folding paper. The original use of these paper toys was to tell a fortune or make a choice.

I changed the use so that depending on which flap you pulled open or which way round you put the fortune teller the nursery rhyme changed, you are able to change the narrative of the most well know nursery rhymes that have been doing the rounds for years.

Humpty Dumpty may decide to run away with the spoon and the dish is left looking after a rather unstable wall.

Nursery Rhyming Blocks

First prints from 'Nursery Rhyming' and original lino blocks, each block took around 12 hours to cut. It begs the question would I do it again if I knew how long it would take....Probably.
